Grant News - Pickle Ball Coming Soon !

🎉 Exciting News for Our Community! 🎉

The Long Riston Playing Fields Committee (Charity No. 523268) is delighted to share that our recent grant application has been successful! Thanks to £730 of funding from the Withernwick Wind Farm Small Grants Fund (up to £1,500), along with a generous £100 contribution from Long Riston Tennis Club, we’ll be purchasing a number of portable pickleball sets—bringing a fun, accessible, and fast-growing sport right to our local area.

Pickleball is easy to pick up, suitable for all ages and abilities, and a fantastic way to stay active and socialise. We’ll be using the existing tennis court area to host sessions, where we’ll be able to set up up to three pickleball courts using the portable equipment—making the most of our current facilities and allowing more people to play at the same time.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more details about where and when you can try pickleball for yourself, along with opportunities to join sessions, learn the basics, and enjoy some friendly competition.

A big thank you to the Withernwick Wind Farm Small Grants Fund and Long Riston Tennis Club for their support, as well as everyone who helped make this possible—we can’t wait to see our community come together and make the most of this exciting new addition!

👉 Keep an eye out for updates and get ready to give pickleball a go!
