Unauthorised Pathway and Safety Concern in Playpark Area

Subject: Unauthorised Pathway and Safety Concern in Playpark Area

Dear Residents,

During a recent site inspection, we discovered that an unauthorised path has been created in the top left corner of the playpark (to the left of the swings), cutting through the area of bushes and natural vegetation. The section appears to have been widened, and bark chippings have been laid on the ground.

Unfortunately, by cutting back the bushes, this work has created an unintended exit point from the play area. This presents a safety concern, as it compromises the secure boundaries that were carefully designed to keep children safe within the fenced and gated playpark. The park’s layout was developed to provide a secure, supervised environment for school children and to offer peace of mind for parents and the wider community.

This new opening undermines those safety measures and poses a particular risk to the children who regularly use the playpark.

If anyone has information regarding this unauthorised alteration, please contact us at [email protected] or speak to any of our trustees if you see them in the village.

In the meantime, we kindly ask that the area be left undisturbed so that the bushes and vegetation can regrow naturally and restore the boundary.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us resolve this matter promptly and maintain the playpark as a safe and secure space for everyone.

Kind regards,
Long Riston PFC Trustees
